Duval Moortgat, Oudenaarde, Belgium

Natalya Watson, Marketing Manager, Duvel Moortgat UK: “In Belgium, where the Duvel Moortgat brewery is based, a far higher proportion of women drink beer than in the UK.  We’d love to see this gap start to narrow and therefore applaud Dea Latis for trying to understand and address some of the barriers that stop women here enjoying beer as they do in so many other countries.”

Liefmans Kriek Brut, a Belgian cherry beer, brewed only once a year each July, using freshly harvested morello cherries, was brewed by Belgium’s first female head brewer, Rosa Merckx, known to all at Liefmans as Madame Rose.
